At CES 2010, chip giant Intel released a flurry of chips to the market, some of which people speculated would end up in Macs at some point, and perhaps that time is now. As it stands, were around a time period where we can expect a refresh to the MacBook Pro and perhaps other Mac computer lineups sometime soon, and with that being said, some MacRumors forum members have discovered a Geekbench benchmark of an unreleased MacBook Pro.
This benchmark reveals a MacBook Pro, with the 6,1 model designation running an unreleased build of Mac OS X 10.6.2 (10C3067), which is perhaps an interim build that Apple has put on this new hardware. As MacRumors points out, this model designation has been spotted in 10.6.2 before in the form of support files. Under the hood, it packs an Intel Core i7 M 620 processor clocked at 2.66GHz, which is one of Intels Arrandale offerings along with 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
MacRumors is also hearing whispers that Apples MacBook Pro supplies have been constrained, which further indicates that a refresh of the lineup is imminent.
