So, as we all know Apple will more than likely announce an event in the future that will show off a new range of iPods, probably in September this year (As it always has been). Considering this is always an active topic of conversation here's a thread on it. Speculate away and link to rumours etc.

Hoping for an iPod Touch with a camera so I can FaceTime without paying an expensive data bill. Also, I really need a new camera. :P

New camera for decent shots? I highly doubt an iPod would suffice.

I wouldn't be surprised if the iPod touch refresh brings a FaceTime camera, along with Retina display and a iPhone 4-ish design though. But it would probably use plastic instead of glass since it's cheaper and more durable.

iPod nano and classic....not sure to be honest.

Yeah, it's highly likely that the Retina Display will feed its way not just into the iPod touch but into the other iPods as well. FaceTime will probably also feature.

The iPod Nano always brings out surprises, it's hard to predict what's coming for it. The Classic is probably the easiest, it'll probably get a size bump to 250GB this time.

Also, the Shuffle isn't included because it gets updated at other times. :P

Also pm_41, don't get an iPod to take photographs, if you want a new camera get a camera, not a music player. It's like getting a phone for portable gaming. *Glares at Apple PR team*

PS1 emulator looks nice on phones. :P

I use my phone as a camera at times, but not anything serious. A sharper display on the devices would certainly be nice though. And who knows? Maybe we'll even see an iWatch, what with that 1" x 1" touchscreen that popped up not too long ago. :P

I'm hoping the Touch will receive a camera (or two), the retina display, the gyroscope thing, and a nice redesign*. As for the Nano, how about the ability to take photos (it only shoots video), another redesign*, and faster hardware chocolate chips.

*For the win.

Just a thought on the Shuffle here, the main reason not many people buy them is the lack of screen, and now Apple have the Retina Display (See where I'm going) they can make a compact, cheap player that looks good.

I don't know how they'd design it, but they might be able to do something neat with it. This is the sort of style I'm thinking.

So it seems that many are saying this new small screened iPod will be the new nano, as was said in the article the other day (I think by Eugene), it would be a huge step backwards in terms of features, and seems more like what the shuffle would get.

If it is the new nano, people will be all over the 5th gen nano on eBay and elsewhere.

Yeah, it'd be either a big step forwards for the shuffle or a big step backwards for the nano..
