Google Doodles Dedicated To Author of “War of The Worlds”
Hardware
Written by Patrick Laughner on Monday, September 21, 2009

Today on Google’s blog, representatives wrote on an interesting subject. Since September 5th, Google has been hard at work creating doodles for its homepage.

go_gle_1

“On September 5th, we posted a doodle with the abduction of our second 'o' and a coded tweet from its alien captors: 1.12.12 25.15.21.18 15 1.18.5 2.5.12.15.14.7 20.15 21.19, which translates into "All your O are belong to us" (a nod to the Japanese video game, Zero Wing).”

goog_e_2

“Ten days later, the UFO returned. This time, it was to leave its mysterious mark on the fields.”

Today Google was finally ready to acknowledge what they were doing. Google is giving an “official” nod to Herbert George, who will be 143 years old today. Google was on a mission to spread the fantastical thinking of what could be done on this planet, and beyond. “War of The Worlds”, by H.G. Wells.

If you like to stay up to date on Google's Doodles, a very nice website called Doodle Source keeps tabs on them so you don't have to. You'll also find much more information on the doodle, much more faster than searching Google itself.
