If you have a phone that has a HTML5 compliant browser, head over to m.youtube.com. YouTube has just upgraded its mobile site to HTML5 from the old web app, with a new UI and better load times. It also makes use of the video tag that HTML5 has. The most important feature here is that the quality of the web app’s videos is far superior to any native application, mainly the iPhone’s, and will also feature more content.
See, YouTube’s mobile application already has a huge install base, every iOS device has it installed already, all 100 million of them. But during a presentation at YouTube’s HQ today, product manager Andrey Doronichev said that the new web-based application is much better in almost every aspect.
Generally, the UI fits better with YouTube’s new UI update to their player that was released recently. And has a load more features, which are all more accessible. This update now makes YouTube even better for more mobile devices with HTML5 compatible browsers.
