According to WZOR, SP1 is yet to reach the official Beta milestone in its development thus far, but their sources tell them that SP1 should reach that development stage sometime around mid-April should things go as planned. Build 7601.16502.100208-1500, the build in Zukona’s possession that will be leaked should make the rounds sometime within the next few days according to whispers around the shady Russian community.

If, once this build leaks, you do decide to install it, you should be well aware of the risks that come with using unauthorized, leaked beta products from Microsoft. You run the risk of the download being contaminated with malware/viruses, as you’re using beta software it will have its share of bugs, and of course, WZOR states that there is a timebomb in the build. All of this means that it’s not recommended to install the build on a production system.

If more information surfaces regarding this, or any relevant SP1 info comes our way, we’ll be sure to update this article. Windows 7 SP1 is expected to RTM sometime around the end of 2010.
