Hotmail Wave 4 update

According to LiveSide many of their readers are reporting that they have been upgraded to the new Hotmail service known as Wave 4.

LiveSide also report that the amount of #NewHotmailHere tags have increased on Twitter since Monday morning.

Microsoft reported a while back that it would take a long time for all their servers to be updated with the new Hotmail, and that the US, UK and Canada would be the first to witness the changes.

Want to know more about the new Hotmail? Check out an overview of it here.

I myself have yet to meet the new Hotmail like many other users around the globe. Let us know in the comments if you have the new Hotmail, and what you think of it.

    1. Bob says:

New hotmail is useless. Crashes IE8 everytime.

    2. Richard says:

Slow as snails. They can call it an upgrade, but that is their opinion.
Just seems to be a typical MS thing, take something that is okay…then make it in to a piece of junk.

      • Alyass says:

In the same boat as you mate. I can’t even reply to emails anymore. I say everyone around the glove converges with pitchforks and torches around the Window’s offices hahaha. Nothing gets shit done like pitchforks and torches hahaha.

*I’m laughing but just a few minutes ago I wanted to break my computer…this a serious problem!”

    3. PDTalkinTech says:

I don’t see why this was hyped up so much, I like the features they have added and it certainly gives it a sleeker look, but didn’t deserve all the hype it’s been getting

    4. Very impressed says:

Its awesome, finally you can empty an insanely huge inbox quick and easy. Looks better and acts better, if you’re having issues, it must be your computer, because both my XP machine at work with Firefox, and my Windows 7 laptop at home with Chrome have no issues whatsoever.

    5. thomas vesely says:

      ie8 crashed

    6. Paul Paliath says:

What specifically must be done to repro the IE8 bug?

      Does it just… happen?

    7. Garrett says:

      The hell is the bullshit?

So now I can’t use Windows Live Messanger, because it AUTOMATICALY connects me without asking?
      Fuck you Microsoft.
      Fuck you Hotmail.
      Fuck you windows live.
      Hello Gmail.

    8. Dan says:

Talk about useless…. my inbox has been pared down to 12 messages. My 100 other messages have been conveniently hidden into misc folder buried in menus… Hello? I don’t need Msoft to guess at what messages I want to see in my inbox. Filtering out the occasional message into the junk folder was OK (I guess) – but now I get to go fishing for missing messages in multiple locations. This blows!

    9. Maggie says:

Firefox cannot display new hotmail properly — can only access on ie.

      • Bob says:

Yes, I have the same problem. Firefox 3.5.x and Vista and after logging in Hotmail doesn’t appear at all. I can only access hotmail with IE. :-(

    10. Edwin Tan says:

i cannot do anything on my hotmail inbox anymore. Every buttons are inactive. Have the following message displayed “Please refresh your browser window. When you access your Windows Live Hotmail account from more than one computer, we ask you to sign in again to help keep your account private and secure.” I refresh my browser window, but nothing happens. All the buttons are still inactive. Help!!!!

    11. Mike says:

Why do they have to keep messing this up….I was upgrade this week and it is can be painfully slow at times. Plus when you hit refresh it seems like nothing happens. I am using Firefox 3.6.8 . I hope that they at least fixed the forwarding bug where the message was not copied unless you when into tool/options/advanced/network and cleared the offline storage, then the message would copy.

    12. Bill says:

Your update has knocked out contact list for new mail and forwarded mail, can’t send e-mail or forward mail so g-mail gets installed

    13. Mike says:

It stinks. It won’t work on my laptop at all. Won’t recognize contact names or email addresses as I type them in, won’t let me open my contacts, won’t let me type a message. Let’s see. What is this good for?

    14. DP says:

Buttons missing in FireFox that show in IE, like the Print button, Refresh button, Next and Previous arrows, the Help question mark to name a few. I am using FireFox 3.6.8 with Windows XP SP3.

    15. David says:

The squeaky little fuckwits will never be able to resist tinkering with it until they’ve repaired it to death.
When you don’t understand something LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE.

    16. jon says:

The changeover to wave wiped out 20k of my emails from years back. I have been a hotmail plus customer for years. This was the reply I received.

I tried to retrieve your e-mail messages but I wasn’t able to recover any. I’m sorry to tell you that we can no longer recover your mails.

If you are accessing your account on E-mail Clients using Pop3 settings, make sure to leave a copy of the message on the server.

Check out this Solution Article on the causes of lost e-mails and how you can prevent them:

Emails are missing from your Windows Live Hotmail account

We need to make this knows they wiped out Millions of email messages with this changeover.

    17. thomas vesely says:
